This Day In History: 1777-12-06

On this day, Washington’s troops defeat the troops of British General William Howe in the Whitemarsh Skirmishes in an area that is now Whitemarsh Township, Pennsylvania, north of Philadelphia. A Quaker housewife, Lydia Darragh, gave Washington’s men warning that the British planned to attack which aided in the victory.
